Dimitri & Marcelle

12 March 2009….the day is a complete blur to me. Even now, some weeks later as I create this post I struggle to remember the day. Not even looking at the photographs helps me. So much happened in just one day.

I can’t imagine what it must feel like for Dimitri and Marcelle. I, at least, have the photographs to remind me. They, have to wait while we process and design their album.

I often tell brides and grooms to “stay in the moment” and “enjoy the day” because it all passes so quickly. I never realised it would happen to me as the photographer. But, fear not. It’s a good sign! The day is a blur because so much happened and it was such fun too. They say time passes quickly when you’re having fun. And so it must have. Even the photographs testify to that.

So here are the facts of the day – Dimitri and Marcelle got married twice, once in a Catholic ceremony and again in a Greek one. That’s so cool. And for us at photos4africa it was fantastic – an opportunity to take photos of the same event in different locations. Brilliant. The reception was held at the Sandton Sun and the party went on well into the night.

Here’s a selection of photos from the day…and the night. Oh, and did I mention it rained on the day too? That’s a good omen for a wedding.
